AXO has had a brilliant end to the 2013 season, thanks to its flagship riders Antonio Cairoli and Ken De Dycker: at the Talkessel circuit (Teutschentahl, Germany) the 7 times World Champ , who was wearing the brand new 2014 SR pants, has claimed a perfect double win, taking Team Italy to the third step of the podium of the 67thedition of the Motocross of Nations, while Ken De Dycker has won the Chamberlain Trophy together with Team Belgium, after last year’s second spot. Icy on the cake, to add a sweet flavor to the end of the season, the last race of the day saw the two AXO riders taking the chequered flag in first and second respectively, sign of their sheer dominance: a real triumph for AXO!
Tony Cairoli: “What an amazing weekend! It was our goal to finish on the podium, but there were so many good teams. My dream was to finish on the podium and this is the first time in the eight years I have been riding for Italy that we made it. It was like a victory for us. My own goal was to win both my races of the MX1 class and I managed that.”
Ken De Dycker: “To win the Motocross of Nations is just a dream that becomes true! Last year in Lommel we were disappointed with Belgium’s second place, but this time we have been just great. In the last race we have been fighting hard to take the win away from Team USA and I pushed as hard as I could to clinch the best result I could and in the end I got second behind Tony, which meant the win for my Team.”
Congratulations, guys, good job!
